We’re Heading to the Fashion Technology Accelerator in Milan! October 1, 2016 – Posted in: Fashion, News – Tags: , , , , ,

Having created and managed accelerator programs, I certainly value the tangible benefits companies reap through the right kind of program for their needs. My team and I are heading to Milan to participate in the Fashion Technology Accelerator for the condensed, one-week version. We’re not only excited about the daily dose of pizza and gelato (pregnancy cravings speaking here…), but also about the people we’re going to meet and the Oola growth potential as a result of this trip.

When signing up for the program, we had four main areas to learn more about and tactics to implement:

  1. Growing our digital footprint and customer reach
  2. Increasing brand recognition
  3. Growing e-commerce pre-sales and sales
  4. Building a base of proud advocates of our brand and products

Moreover, we are looking forward to a new team experience!

Why this accelerator?

It’s in Milan, the major fashion and design capital! It’s also a fashion-specific program which promises direct interaction with top industry and academic experts in the field. The list of speakers and mentors, too, is phenomenal and includes experts from Vente Privée, Tod’s Group, the Italian startup ELSE Corp, Italian Angels for Growth, as well as BCG, Domus Academy, and Bocconi University.

Why now?

Oola has received encouraging feedback from customers all around the world — those who tried our products on or even saw the pictures. We haven’t had a chance to connect with fashion industry experts yet due to our focus on designing an awesome collection and pushing these products to market. This is our chance to learn from experienced mentors and start thinking about growth strategies. At this stage of development, we also need the support of fellow entrepreneurs going through the same experiences. Hopefully through this program, we will build a network of not only mentors, but also innovative startup colleagues in the same space.

We will keep you posted about the rest of the journey!
